I think, therefore I dream

“This text was written within the framework of the Rassemblement Jeunesse Québecois 2004, under the theme of Two minutes to change the world.”

Ours was never read as we wrote it the next morning in a ‘flood of inspiration’. We would like to share it with you today.

I think, therefore I dream

  • We dream of an avant-garde people, offering leadership in the development of a different way of living, able to recognize and encourage success criteria connected to ‘Being’, not ‘Having’;
  • We dream of a conscious people, conscious that their mother, Earth, is tired and out of breath from giving so much to its children;
  • We dream of green movements which take root in our soil and grow to rethink and remodel the cold concrete foundations of the capitalist world that rules over us;
  • We dream of a people who are aware that life is not a destination, but a voyage. An expedition during which time is taken to laugh, exchange, cry, take advantage of every moment... to live what!;
  • We dream of a group of implacable visionaries who structure and organize their lives around social prominence and can use that power wisely to help us reach new heights;
  • We dream of a collective accountability, for the community;
  • We dream of a people who are open to differences, divergent opinions, and poignant realities here and everywhere;
  • We dream of a people who are conscious that the Ego offers no solutions; it merely alters choices and makes us lose our way;
  • We dream of a bright, joyous, exalted people;
  • We dream that the changes to come will be smooth flowing, amazingly serene;
  • We dream of this now because it must be.

It is up to us to decide: ‘Dream or Reality’
